Santa Fe train 804 tries to outrun impending storms as it knocks down the semaphore at Wagon Mound, New Mexico. With just six cars, 804 wasn’t a profitable run on this day.

With one six-axle EMD for each car, and one for the caboose, Santa Fe Train 804 rolls east across the New Mexico desert toward Raton.

Starting up the 3 percent Raton Pass grade, a severely overpowered Santa Fe train 804 has left Raton, and is passing Keota, New Mexico on a May afternoon.
